On a flying visit: On Tuesday, 11th of April 2017, NOBISKRUG’s repair team welcomed the Frigate “HESSEN” (F 221), which was towed directly into dock 8a, on the premises of its sister shipyard GERMAN NAVAL YARDS Kiel. The Naval Vessel type F 123 was commissioned in 2006 and is part of the so called “Sachsen class”.

Rendsburg/Kiel, Germany - The ceremonial keel laying of a next Nobiskrug superyacht-new build project took place at the shipyard’s premises in Kiel.

After gathering of the guests and the yard’s team and following a short address of the management, an 80-ton block-section was lifted by crane into the building shed, marking another important milestone of the construction of the 80-meter superyacht. The construction of all sections with a very high degree of outfitting up to assembly of the complete hull will take place in the sheds of the yard under controlled climate conditions – therewith warranting utmost quality. This is a unique construction process at Nobiskrug and only possible due to the impressive and suitable facilities counting a 900t gantry-crane that serves all sheds through the roofs as well as all gravity docks on the Kiel-site – the longest dock measuring 426m. It is also the first project that benefits from another latest major investment on the sites – a state of the art plasma cutting machine worth abt. 1 million Euros adding complementary to the existing cutting machines.

Traditionally, the Owner brought a special coin that was placed under the keel and once the yacht will be near to completion, the coin will be retrieved and presented back to the Owner for good luck while sailing the oceans....

All about science: With "ALKOR" and "POSEIDON" the LINDENAU shipyard welcomes two research vessels at once in the middle of this year’s November. Both are in use for the GEOMAR Helmholtz-Centre for Ocean Research Kiel. Purpose of the yard stay lasting several weeks are general painting and repair measurements as well as adjustments within the piping system. On "POSEIDON" additional shipbuilding and machinery works are being executed in the area of the research equipment besides corrections at the interior design.

On Thursday, 6th October 2016 managing director of GERMAN NAVAL YARDS, Holger Kahl, welcomes high-level guests from China on the shipyard in Kiel.

The nine-person delegation from the province Zhejiang was led by Mr. Xia Baolong, Party Secretary, one of the leading representatives of the province with 50 Mio. inhabitants situated at the Eastern Chinese Sea.

The Schleswig-Holstein superyacht builder is presenting itself at the legendary “Monaco Yacht Show”. The international fair is taking place from 28. September until 1. October in Port Hercules of the Principality.
The organizers are expecting more than 500 manufacturers; many of which regularly show their luxurious yachts there. The fair is known to be the world’s most renowned Boatshow.

Political visit in a double pack: On Wednesday, 14.09.2016 the Rendsburg shipyard NOBISKRUG was able to welcome two in the constituency participating politicians for the region Rendsburg-Eckernförde. Dr. Johann Wadephul, directly elected Member of German Parliament (Bundestag), as well as Landtag deputy Hans Hinrich Neve informed themselves in a meeting with managing director Susanne Wiegand on the current capacity of the super yacht builder as well as the sister shipyards GERMAN NAVAL YARDS Kiel and LINDENAU.
